Registered Dental Hygienist
I enjoy establishing lasting relationships with the patients I see, learning who they are beyond their dental needs. The more I know about their life and hobbies, the better I can assist them in finding the home oral hygiene practices and products that work for their needs. I provide thorough, gentle periodontal treatment, and assist in growing our periodontal care program, too.
I started working at Gundersen Dental Care back in high school, cleaning the office and helping with reception tasks, then became a dental assistant for the practice. After receiving my Bachelor’s in Molecular and Cell Biology at the University of Washington, I was awarded my degree as a Registered Dental Hygienist at Pierce Community College and returned to our practice.
I’m married to my best friend, Rob. We have three wonderful children: Chloe, Eli, and Ari. In my free time, which is greatly limited with three kids, I enjoy working out, traveling, camping, and hiking. I’m also passionate about spending time with my family, Bible study, and the children’s ministry at my church, REALITY of Olympia.
Registered Dental Hygienist
I spend my days working one-on-one with each patient. While I am scaling and polishing their teeth, taking digital films, and administering anesthetic, I talk with them about oral hygiene. It’s important a person understands why they need to keep their mouth healthy, and how to do so. When a patient returns for a recall visit, and I see a healthy smile, I’m thrilled.
I’ve been working as a dental hygienist since 2000, following my graduation from Oregon Health Sciences University with a BS in Dental Hygiene. It’s a joy to provide care that improve the health of our patients, and become friends with them in the process. Working in a practice where my teammates feel like family is equally wonderful.
I live in Tumwater with my husband, daughter and son, and our rescue dog. My free time is spent shuttling my children to various activities, and attempting to sneak in time to relax. I grew up in Oregon and we frequently visit family there.

As a dental hygienist, I focus on preventing disease to protect teeth, gums, and my patients’ total health. In addition to treating patients directly by providing quality services in cleaning their teeth, I perform oral healthcare assessments, oral cancer screening, and patient education on home care. I am certified in CPR/BLS training and continue to further my knowledge through yearly CE courses in order to provide patients with the utmost care. My favorite part of my job is making a difference with my patients. I love seeing them succeed by encouraging and helping them achieve their best oral health.
I graduated in 1993 from Pierce College in Lakewood Washington with an associate’s degree in applied science. I love spending time with family and friends. I am very blessed to have them in my life!
Certified and Registered Dental Assistant
I like getting to know each of our patients and hearing about their families and interests. I learn so much from them, and appreciate it when they choose to confide in me. My days are spent providing patient care and assisting them during their visits. I sit chairside while Dr. Gundersen performs various dental treatments, ensuring he has everything needed, At the same time, I am concentrating on our patient. I tell them what the doctor is doing, how well everything is going, and offer encouragement if needed.
I’ve been a Certified Dental Assistant since graduating from South Puget Sound Community College in 1990. Each year I take multiple continuing education courses to keep my certification current and because I enjoy learning.

Additionally, I oversee scheduling and marketing.
